Falling Down

A short story for your enjoyment

After a long day’s work I stepped into my apartment thinking everything was great. That was until I realized I stepped into an empty space 15 floors up and falling. At least that’s what it seemed for I thought anyway, after all my apartment was on the 15th floor, but it seemed to take an awfully long time for me to fall.

Initially I went down what seemed like 10 feet, and then hovered there for I don’t know how long I didn’t really count the seconds or minutes, I was too terrified to do anything but scream and hope that somebody would be able to rescue me. But the yelling seemed to not echo in the expanse of Darkness, it was like it was deadened like it was hitting rubber.

Like it was bouncing all over the place, kind of like when you take one of those rubber balls and chuck it as hard as you can against the wall in a small room, the thing flies around all over and you have to avoid getting hit.

I next fell for what seems like 2 minutes before coming to an abrupt end dangled in the darkness. I cried out for help and no one answered. Again my cries echoed through whatever I was in, a never ending sea of blackness, I pinched myself to see if I was dreaming, but I didn’t wake.

This was more than just a horror movie, so many things ran through my head, could I have been abducted by…
