As they had told her the evening before, after feeding her breakfast, Martin loaded Sarah on to a carriage, and with two men providing security they left the homestead. Sarah sat staring at the floor of the carriage wondering how she would ever be able to rescue her brothers and sisters and avenge the murder of her parents and grandfather. How could she ever come up with any way to pay a bounty hunter? Another of the stories her grandfather used to tell her was about money made from paper and how you could buy something by swiping a little piece of plastic all the credit card. All funny stories, who would ever be stupid enough to let somebody pay for something with a piece of plastic?

If only she could have one of those, but would a bounty hunter take payment in that form? Sarah knew that there is definitely one type of payment a bounty hunter would like from her.

After the man arrived at the orphanage, Sarah begged him to help to find the mysterious Bounty Hunter named Vance.

I’m sorry young girl,” he answered, “that man is a myth.”

“And how Would you know?”

“Don’t ask too many questions.”

He lifted her out of the carriage and introduced her to the head of the orphanage, Carl and Charlene Matthews.
