Rejected again, Sophie thought. Well I’ll show them just what I’m made of.

And on it went through high school and university, the everyday girl Sophie was, as opposed to the captain of the cheerleader team or the knockout supermodel type that many of the guys were so enamored with. She remembered something she read about what Bill Gates had said to a graduating high till class, “Be nice to the Nerds, you’ll probably end up working for one.”

And that’s what fueled her to put her head down and nose to the grindstone, she got straight A’s, the highest grade point average in her class. And as she looked out over the sea of graduation gowns and caps, she couldn’t help but feel a little smugness thinking that she beat them all. The valedictorian of her class, and as they say this was commencement, the beginning of how one day all of them will work for her.

Sophie had her goals and life all planned out, she would learn the ropes of her chosen industry, determined to be greatest marketer in history. She didn’t just take a job and be happy with the entry level position and salary. She had read somewhere that she should read 10 pages of a good book, personal development type book that is, and at listen to least 15 minutes of personal development audio a day. That wasn’t good enough for her, she did 20 pages and a half hour of audio. To be better than the rest, you have to…
